The DISM command lets you fix Windows 10 by resorting the missing or corrupted system files. Here ways to use the DISM command to revive Windows image.

The Windows based pc is complex. Though it works perfectly for any vast majority of individuals a vast most of situations, you will see times when it doesn't work. There can be any number of causes of this like system crashes, incompatible software, incompatible hardware, corrupted system files, missing system files, etc. When that occurs, Windows has its own built-in tools to repair itself. However, those tools can only do so much. For example, in case of missing or corrupted system files, Windows canrrrt do much.

To cope with those kinds of situations, Windows 10 has a built-in tool called DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management). Using DISM in conjunction with the SFC tool, you are able to restore and connect missing or corrupted system files. Of course, DISM can perform a lot more . For example, developers often use DISM to organize and modify system images to match their deployment needs.

3. (optional) Use DISM with ISO file to repair Windows

When the DISM command is unable to restore Windows image directly, you are able to mount the Windows 10 ISO and point the command to make use of the install.wim file or install.esd file. This way, Windows can easily replace the corrupted or missing system files with the ones in the ISO. Here is how it can be done.

Download Windows 10 ISO.
Double-click around the ISO to mount it in File Explorer.
Open the beginning menu.
Search for "Command Prompt."
Right-click on Command Prompt.
Select the "Run as administrator" option.
Type the below command for those who have an install.wim file and press Enter. Switch the drive letter (X) using the actual drive letter of the mounted ISO.
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:X:\Sources\install.wim
If you've install.esd file, type the below command. Switch the drive letter with the actual drive letter of the mounted ISO.
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:X:\ESD\Windows\sources\install.esd

Even if Windows doesn't natively support the TGZ file, you can still open it. Follow these steps to extract or open TGZ file key in Windows 10.

If you have ever downloaded a backup file or perhaps a folder compressed on a Linux system, you might have seen its file extension is .tgz. Actually, the TGZ data format is pretty common in Linux server environments and backups. In case you don't know, TGZ is just a TAR archive file. To be a bit more specific, once a TAR archive is made, the system uses gzip software to compress the TAR archive. Along the way, it makes the TGZ file format. You can think of it like this "TGZ -> TAR -> Your files."

Though the TGZ data format is fairly popular, Windows doesn't natively support it. That's the reason the reason why you visit a blank file icon for TGZ files. For instance, Windows natively props up ZIP data format and you can open .zip files directly within the File Explorer. For that TGZ data format, that isn't possible. So, make use of third-party software like 7-Zip to open and extract a .tgz file in Windows 10. Fortunately it's pretty simple to do.

Within this fast and short Windows 10 guide, allow me to demonstrate the steps to spread out a TGZ file in Windows 10.

How to open .tgz file in Windows 10

To open a TGZ file, there exists a make use of a free and open-source software called 7-Zip. The software is compatible with nearly every file compression type on the planet. So, make use of the given connect to upload 7-Zip (https://www.7-zip.org/download.html). After that, follow the steps the following.

Find the .tgz file in Windows 10.
Right-click on the TGZ file.
Select the "Open with" option.
Select the "7-Zip" option.
Click on the "Ok" button.
TGZ file is going to be opened in the 7-Zip application.
If you see a .tar file, double-click on it to spread out it.

First, visit the folder where the .tgz file is located. With my case, the file is on the desktop. Next, right-click on the file and choose the "Open with" option.

Now, choose the "7-Zip File Manager" option. If you fail to find the option, click the "More apps" link at the bottom to grow the list. You are able to choose the option from there. After selecting, click the "Ok" button.

As soon as you do that, the TGZ file is going to be opened within the 7-Zip application. As mentioned before, .tgz is just a tar archive. So you will find the .tar file inside the TGZ file. To spread out it, simply double-click onto it.

As soon as you double-click around the tar file, 7-Zip will decompress the file and opens it. Once opened, you can just drag and drop its contents to a folder of your choice to extract them.

With this, you've successfully opened and extracted a TGZ file in Windows 10. Of course, 7-Zip isn't the only program to spread out .tgz files. You may also use alternatives like WinZip or RAR. So if 7-Zip didn't work with some reason, provide the other applications a go.

Windows 10 Mail app is a nice good general-purpose email client. Here's how you can add or delete email accounts within the Mail app on Windows 10.

Windows 10 comes with a default Email client called the Mail app. It is not only lightweight and easy to make use of but has all the basic features you will ever need. Even though there are far superior third-party email clients like Thunderbird, the default Mail app gets the job done for most users. Add to that, Microsoft is improving the Mail app with the addition of additional features with almost every major release.

One of the best reasons for the Mail App uses OAuth2 for adding and syncing email accounts. What this signifies for you is the fact that even if you are using two-factor authentication (that is recommended), you don't need to use application-specific passwords. To put it simply, OAuth2 makes the authentication process streamlined and secure.

Within this simple guide, let me show you how you can add an email account within the Mail app and how to remove an e-mail account in the Mail app on Windows 10.

1. Add Email Account in Mail App

To include an email account to the Mail app, stick to the below steps.

Open mail app by searching for it within the start menu.
Select the email service of your choice.
Stick to the authentication wizard and allow the Mail app access for your email account.

That's it. You've successfully added your first email account to the Mail app on Windows 10. In the future, when you open the Mail app, you will notice your email account around the left panel. All of the emails will be in the center panel. Whenever you select an e-mail, the e-mail body will appear in the right panel.

2. Add Multiple Email options in Mail App

For those who have multiple email accounts, you can add these towards the Mail app. The only thing is the fact that, when you're trying to incorperate your second, third, or nth email account, the process is a little different.

Search for Mail app in the start menu and open it up.
Click on the "Settings" icon at the end left.
Choose the "Manage Accounts" option.
Click on the "Add account" option.
Select the email service. In my case, I'm selecting Google when i want to add a Gmail account.
Stick to the authentication wizard and allow the Mail app access for your requirements.
If the authentication works, you will notice the "All done" message. Click on the "Done" button.

That's it. You will see the newly added email account on the left pane as well as in the Manage Accounts flyout menu. By selecting an e-mail account in the left panel, read all of the emails for the reason that specific email account.

3. Delete an Email Account from Mail App

Should you no more require an email account, you can delete it in the Mail app. Stick to the below instructions to remove an email account from Mail app.

Open the Mail app by searching for it within the start menu.
Click on the "Settings" icon appearing at the bottom left corner.
Select the "Manage Accounts" option from the flyout menu.
Click on the email account you want to delete.

If you don't want Windows 10 to automatically redirect you against Internet Explorer to Edge browser when accessing incompatible websites, you can stop it. Here's the best way to do it.
