Windows 10 May 2019 Update is suffering as a result of another of Microsoft's cumulative updates (KB4524147) for that OS - yet again - which time the treatment for printer issues has caused, yes, you got it right: more printer bugs. As well as the awful specter of boot failure problems?-

Okay, so for perspective, let's rewind slightly towards the previous cumulative update KB4517211, which implemented numerous fixes together with a solution for muffled game audio, but additionally introduced new bugs, causing major issues for printers (seemingly HP models in the primary).

So this new patch, KB4524147, just been pushed out to "correct a current printing issue some users have experienced", except based on widespread reports over the net and Bleeping Computer, it actually breaks printers for other users - and doesn't even solve the existing bugbear.

A reader told Bleeping Computer that these updates actually "*cause* printing problems where there weren't any printing problems previously", adding: "That is ironic because those updates are specially supposed to solve printing problems."

Ironic, indeed. Apparently the print spooler service doesn't stay going after installing the cumulative update, but everything goes back to normal after uninstalling the KB4524147 patch.

In addition, but the new cumulative update can also be causing problems with the beginning menu (again) whereby it crashes and won't operate - not until Microsoft's patch is taken away. Nasty…

Boot failure

And if that wasn't enough for you personally, there are reports of PCs neglecting to boot post-update, which is a truly worrying situation and reported across multiple Reddit threads.

Until recently, most of the bugs Microsoft continues to be blundering around causing with misguided fix after fix have been relatively minor, a minimum of in the main issue - but a boot failure is not.

We've already made the situation that Microsoft badly must get on surface of these troubleshooting gremlins, or risk having its reputation ruined, and it seems that's much more the situation now. Because this is starting to get beyond a joke?-
